Patrick W. Norton is an Atlanta-based lawyer, strategist, and author. He was born in Nashville, TN and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in economics from Belmont University, a doctorate J.D. from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, and an MBA from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University.

Patrick has worked in management consulting at Bain & Company and has held strategy roles at Cox Automotive (i.e., Autotrader and Kelley Blue Book) and Healthgrades. Prior to that, Patrick practiced corporate, securities, mergers and acquisitions law at Adams and Reese, LLP in Nashville, TN. Patrick is also a co-founder of StratThink, LLC.

He is the author of Revamping the Permanent Growth Environment: How Good Strategy Beats Market Pressures. In the book, Patrick examines Poor Process, Rushed, and Socially Bad Decisions, which are three categories of bad decisions created by the Permanent Growth Environment pressures, and how to counteract those pressures through good strategy work and managing key decision-making scenarios, which are Binary, Distributed, and Fog of War. He goes further by outlining approaches to economic regulation to help alleviate pressures in the macroeconomy.
